2WF READY TRANSFORMATION PROCEDURE
This procedure transforms Red Zone 500-700 and Red Fire 500 wheels (designed to be used with an inner tube) into Tubeless Ready wheels (i.e. without the use of an inner tube but with the compulsory use of a sealant liquid).
To ensure the correct transformation of the wheels, it is obligatory to respect the procedure explained below, using the following components:
Fulcrum Seeger ring
30mm / 29" wide for the Red Zone range
35mm / 27.5" wide for the Red Fire 500 range
Mariposa effect: Caffèlatex
• Remove the original rim tape of the wheels, using a screwdriver to separate it from the rim (Fig.1).
Important: be very careful not to scratch or cut the rim whilst removing the rim tape.
• Remove the cap and locknut from the valve (Fig.2).
• Insert the valve in the hole in the Seeger ring (Fig.3).
• Install the valve and the Seeger ring on the rim, tightening the locknut that holds the valve in place (Fig.4)
• Position the wheel on the ground, with the valve area towards the top (Fig.5).
• Take hold of the Seeger ring with both hands and push it downwards, inserting it in the rim groove (Fig.6).
• Insert a screwdriver beneath the ring and slide it along the rim so it's centred as far as possible in the rim groove (Fig.7).
• The tape must not be positioned as shown in Fig.8; it must be centred in relation to the edges, as shown in Fig.9.
• Install a Tubeless or Tubeless Ready tyre on the rim, positioning the beads in the central groove of the rim. Dip a brush (diameter approx. 2cm) in a container of water and neutral soap, and apply plenty of water to the tyre beads (Fig.10).
• Check the valve is fully open (Fig.11).
• Use a compressor or a high-volume pump to pump up the tyre, without exceeding the maximum pressure. Fit the tyre in the edges of the rim, making sure the tyre beads are resting correctly and evenly against the rim along the entire wheel circumference (Fig.12-13).
• Pull one side of the tyre away, and pour Mariposa sealant liquid into it (Fig.14-15).
• Replace the tyre in the central groove and pump it up again (without exceeding the maximum pressure). Make sure it's correctly positioned, and carefully check that the tyre beads are resting evenly against the rim along the entire wheel circumference (Fig.16-17).
• Rotate and shake the wheel so the liquid can seal all its inner surface. Apply water and soap on the cover and check for any bubbles, which would indicate air leaking from the cover. Position the wheel so that the liquid will flow to the area of the air leak, so the liquid can block it (Fig.16).
• Deflate the tyre to the pressure value most suitable for the way you use the bike.
• Close the valve and replace the plastic valve-cover (Fig.19).
