A Journey Towards Perfection: Fulcrum’s Two Decades of Innovation and Performance

 

Since 2004 we have pursued our design approach guided by the awareness that form and function are indissolubly connected. We choose the best materials and refine the details to achieve technical solutions that are precise and clear, in order to render Fulcrum the point of reference in Italy and the world. We do this first of all for ourselves, because we create the wheels that we ride every day and that make us proud. All Fulcrum products are the result of numerous hours in the test laboratory and in the saddle, and accurate analyses that are aimed at giving riders a sense of satisfaction every time they get on their bike. Riding a Fulcrum wheel provides a superior ride feel: something that is difficult to describe or quantify, but that those who choose our products can feel. We don’t want to make compromises: performance is the beacon that illuminates our whole range, from the top of the range racing products right down to the entry level products. In Fulcrum’s wheels every component is expertly assembled, creating an excellent, long-lasting and quality system. A system that we test personally on our lunchtime or after work rides, because we are the first extremely demanding customers.

 

This unique approach soon saw us working with professional teams of every discipline, which contributed to the development of Fulcrum’s wheels, achieving exceptional results in terms of victories. Since 2005 we have collaborated with teams such as Quick Step-Innergetic, Lampre, Cofidis and Bahrain-Merida, collecting four word championships in a row, winning all the Monuments and one Giro d’Italia with champions of the calibre of Paolo Bettini, Tom Boonen and Vincenzo Nibali. Over the years we have developed various iconic products for the road, such as the Racing Zero in 2007, which are still one of our bestselling wheels, thanks to their unmistakable flat aluminium spokes and precise and reactive ride feel. The Racing and Speed family of wheels have also made racing history, and today can be found in their 42 and 57 versions, to meet the demands of contemporary cyclists looking for maximum performance on the road.

 

Similarly in mountain bikes Fulcrum has played a leading role in XC and Marathon races, alongside teams such as Orbea Racing and Merida Multivan. We are proud to have supported athletes such as Julien Absalon, Gunn-Rita Dahle and José Hermida, who have won Olympic medals with Fulcrum wheels, as well as countless races on the World Cup circuit and World Championships. We have also taken part in downhill racing with the Full Dynamix team and the Commencal team.
Here too the experience that we matured with the most accomplished athletes has allowed us to develop emblematic and state of the art products within the off road Red family. Red Power, Red Metal, Red Passion, Red Fire, Red Zone and Red Heat are the fundamental pieces of a great puzzle, perfect because of its variety.
Without forgetting our arrival in the gravel world, which is currently experiencing a full scale expansion, with our Rapid Red wheels and the new Sharq, our latest model, featuring an innovative profile that meets the demands for performance and aerodynamics.
