Impressive victory of Diego Ulissi in the demanding time trial in the 3rd day of the Tour of Slovenia.

Lampre-Merida’s cyclist's timing was 4" lower than the ones by Taaramae and Fraille, 1'10" better than the performance by Foliforov, who was the winner of the climbing time trial in the Giro d'Italia.

The start of the course of the race against the clock was in Celje and the cyclists reached the arrival in Celjska Koca covering 16,8 km: the first part was on plain and after 10 km began the climb of medium gradient of 6,4% and maximum gradient of 16%.

Diego Ulissi could pedal at high speed in the first part of the course pedaling on the Merida Warp TT bike equipped with Fulcrum Racing Speed XLR 80 and Fulcrum Racing Speed Disc wheels and he succeeded in climbing on the ascent in a perfect way, being very brilliant also in the most demanding sectors of the hill also thanks to the programmed change of the bike (Merida Scultura after 1 km on the final climb).

The captain of Lampre-Merida stopped the clock on 28'23".

This is the 3rd seasonal victory for Ulissi, the 9th for Lampre-Merida in the 2016 season.
