FULCRUM'S 2012 WILL BE THE YEAR OF AERODYNAMICS AND ALU/CARBON TECHNOLOGY
For 2012, Fulcrum will introduce an extensive range of high-profile aluminium/carbon wheels named Red Wind.
The new Red Wind Series has been designed and developed with the aim of perfectly integrating two materials that make up the rim: an aluminium rim and the carbon body. Thanks to the implementation of an exclusive coupling process between the aluminium rim and the carbon structure, the rim is extremely rigid, which allows for excellent responsiveness and outstanding durability of the wheel. Moreover, thanks to the exclusive moulding system of the rim with non-primed carbon, the weight has been dramatically reduced and the surface has no imperfections.
It’s possible to chose between 2 different types of wheel: Red Wind and Red Wind XLR.
Red Wind XLR, which represents the top wheel of this segment, will be available in two different profiles for the aluminium rim: a traditional profile for clinchers and the innovative 2-Way Fit™ profile which allows to use both traditional and tubeless clinchers. It will be manufactured in 3 different rim heights – 50mm, 80mm and 105mm – and it will be possible to choose between 3 different types of ball/bearings, i.e. top quality, sealed bearings, bearings with ceramic USB™ balls or bearings with the ceramic CULT™ technology. It will be launched in two colors, Bright Label and Dark Label.
The Red Wind model will be available in two rim depths, 50mm and 80mm, in one color and with two options for bearings, standard or with USB™ ceramic balls.
And for cyclocross fans, Fulcrum decided to design the 50mm Red Wind XLR CX, fitted with a special double bearing seal that protects the ball bearing’s from water and-mud, providing long term performance.
